At the Dell Technologies Forum earlier this month, Prime Vision took center stage in the closing program. Our technology director, Julian Gonzalez Verbeek, explained how Prime Vision is bringing AI back from the cloud to the edge, directly into postal and parcel sorting centers where every millisecond counts.
Working with Dell Technologies, Prime Vision uses hyper-converged infrastructure, Dell APEX and Dell NativeEdge to deliver cloud-like flexibility inside the operation itself. This allows millions of routing decisions to be made locally, fast and reliably.

Julian highlighted three pillars of Prime Vision’s approach:
- Modernize step by step, adding an AI layer on top of existing machines and software.
- Build elastic, “breathing” infrastructure that scales with peak volumes without heavy CapEx.
- Start small and scale, proving value with pilots before rolling out across sites and countries.
A strong human focus ran through his message. Many employees fear that AI means job loss. Prime Vision turns that conversation around: AI and robotics make work easier, safer and more meaningful, rather than replacing people.
Other speakers broadened the context. Tech expert and former Member of Parliament Kees Verhoeven urged Europe to move from regulating to building its own digital ecosystems. Dell Technologies Netherlands top executive Isabel Moll described IT professionals as “agents of resilience”, balancing human needs with scalable, secure innovation.
The shared conclusion: The next wave of AI will create the most value at the edge – in real operations, with people at the core. Prime Vision and Dell Technologies are already showing what that future looks like.
